2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Review

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek
2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek. This is a new Crossover Utility Vehicle that is designed for adventurous people at an affordable price.

Subaru launches this vehicle to deal primarily with a view to "Generation Y". The most important pillars for its construction were: Keep Subaru DNA, Security, Versatility and Longevity. Furthermore, this should look good, offer off-road capability, functionality, efficiency, capacity and comfort for its occupants.

The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek features the same 2.0-liter engine found in the Impreza. This brings the variable valve system and generates 148 HP and 145 lbs / ft. Its transmission is standard 5-speed manual and optional is the continuously variable automatic. For the latter set up paddles behind the steering wheel torque to handle the 6 positions.

Symmetrical AWD system of Subaru comes standard on all versions of the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek. Manual transmission models with mechanical AWD system, while those who carry the CVT include electronic AWD system.

The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek is rated to pull 1.500 pounds and also has a roof rack able to carry 150 pounds. An interesting detail in the latter is the focus in its design and manufacturing to minimize the effect "anti-spoiler."

One of its main strengths is its ability off-road. In our experience allowed us to use the XV through gravel and dirt roads that had been hit by heavy rains and short. During our test surprised us two things: The first was the distance between the track and the car (8.7 ") which was enough to drive without" bottoming out "as we crossed large on the track.

Second, the CVT offered the force and torque required for variable track conditions. This is the first time I can say that this type of transmission was adequate and did its job efficiently and effectively.

Subaru engineers have worked hard to maximize driver visibility. This tried to lower the instrument panel and raise the drivers position. Also tried to minimize the dimensions of the pillar without sacrificing occupant safety.

For those seeking a long travel car, this is able to walk 524 miles when you start a trip with full fuel tank. Inside, it has good load capacity and the rear seat bench can be folded (60/40) to expand its capacity.

Furthermore, we found much cargo space available to accommodate any type of gadget and containers for liquid contents. Cargo space has a plastic container to load and insulating wetsuits, towels, wet clothing and accessories and / or dirty.

As for handling, the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek remains low center of gravity, its chassis was adjusted to maintain good handling and try to get a sporty handling, installed a power steering system and suspension with McPherson front.

Good weight distribution and all the systems mentioned above, make it a very efficient vehicle on the road and beyond. The driving feel is good, but sometimes its 2.0-liter engine feels a bit timid in reacting.

The 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek is available in two versions: Premium and Limited. The former has 5-speed manual transmission offers fuel consumption levels of between 23/30 mpg. The second-Limited-CVT automatic transmission brings and consumes 25/33. Not yet announced the official prices, but we know that the base price for this model is $ 22,000.
